“I’m not picking up what you’re laying down”. “I don’t feel where you’re coming from”. “I’m not reading your mail”. “HuH?”. “You lost me at hello”. Ever had the experience of being lost in the words of a rambler? We ask questions like, What is this guy Check out one of our bands! They come and rock out on Sundays, and they also do their thang all week long in the local bands scene. FAMILIA! talking about? How does this have any bearing on my life? It’s like when kids try to justify a bad grade in Math class by arguing that they will never need to know trigonometry at any point in the rest of their life. When it’s relevant….when we want to know….when it impacts us….WE ENGAGE. We think that the message we are packing is more than just relevant to our lives. It forces us to reexamine what will be relevant in our futures. I hate when I meet people who are so turned off of God and faith because they have been bored to tears through irrelevant messages and purposeless challenges so much so that they reduce God to something that doesn’t resonate with their lives. We hope to be a place that never removes the raw radicalism from Jesus’ message. Our experience is that when people are exposed to Jesus’ way and the flipped thinking he suggests, faith becomes anything but boring. We are serious about our commitment to connect with people in a natural way. That plays out in the way we dress, the music we jam to, the videos we show, the language we use, and the way we relate to God. We are committed to pointing out points where our culture gets it right and training our minds to see elements of God’s message in all kinds of places.
